Identifying artists & markets ahead of the curve
Sourcing contemporary art works by Nina van Heuveln
Heuv Art is an art advisory firm, founded by Nina van Heuveln in 2016, specialising in sourcing contemporary artworks by emerging artists.
Heuv Art is based in Lucca, Italy but works closely with many up and coming international artists of post-graduate art academies in The Netherlands. According to Nina, it is important to stimulate the art market by introducing new emerging talent to the international art world. With a proven record in identifying emerging artists ahead on the curve, Nina sources top quality works for her clients.
Nina works with private, institutional and corporate clients on building collections, exhibition programs and special projects. She provides research and professional advice regarding collection registration, management, funding, installation, shipping and framing services. Besides her advisory role in purchasing art, Nina also organises art talks, tours and other art related events.
With an expertise in Modern and Contemporary Art, Nina works closely with her clients to understand their objectives, tastes, interests and budget requirements. Nina makes sure each client receives personalized attention and selects the works with the best fit for them.
In 2008 Nina participated The John Hall Venice Course, a pre-university course with lectures and visits to several museums and collections in London, Venice, Florence and Rome. It was because of these visits that Nina made her decision to read History of Art.
“Nina has demonstrated a broad knowledge of contemporary art, which she combines with an enormous enthusiasm for this field of art history.”
Peter van der Graaf, Senior Specialist Post-War & Contemporary Art department, Christie’s Brussels
During her studies she became a tour guide for the Six Collection, an exquisite small museum located in a private house of the Dutch aristocratic Six family. After studying History of Art at the University of Amsterdam, Nina worked at some contemporary art galleries such as Rademakers Gallery , Boetzelaer|Nispen and GRIMM. Her experience with the international secondary art market at Christie’s and Wedel Art in London were decisive in setting up her own firm in Amsterdam.
“Nina has a good creative eye and is fun to work with.”
Cato van Ee, Dutch supermodel & art collector
Nina is driven to visit many ‘art related places’ such as museums, galleries, fairs, academies and artists’ studios and has a wide network within these places. Nina has been part of various art committees as ‘Van Loon 100’ (Museum Van Loon) and ‘Jonge Rembrandt’ (Vereniging Rembrandt) and is also involved in many other art initiatives. As from 2022 Nina runs the annual Art Residency program for young and emerging artists at Tenuta di Forci.
“Nina is a great inspirator thanks to her catching enthusiasm that makes you wish to hear more about art and culture. She has a vast array of contacts in the art world and has all the patience and insights to make a smart advisor.”
Melanie van Ogtrop, art collector and owner of Circle Gallery
